machine operator in a garment factory. She was killed at about
8.30 pm, whilst going to her sisters house close by. The child

killed on the bund of the Bulankulama wewa at about 8 pm whilst
on his way. He used to drink regularly. He was found dead on the
bund the next morning. He was aged 37 when he died and was a
casual worker. His wife is also a casual worker. They have taken
a Housing loan of Rs 25,000/- from Housing Authority after
husbands death. A doctor from Durdans Hospital has given her Rs.
40,000/- They have five children. The eldest child has stopped
going to school after year 10 to look after the youngest sister.
Daughter B. D. Lakmali is with the mothers brother in Galle and
going to school there. Son aged 10 years is reluctant to go to
